 WHAT IS A FOOD DRIVE?

Organizing a food drive is a great way to make a difference and support the community while building teamwork, leadership, and empathy.

Food drives are a classic way to support your local food bank by collecting and donating food items and adding to the collective offering of the group as a team activity.

HOW TO ORGANIZE A  FOOD DRIVE

Set the details: Pick your dates (one day or multiple days), times, location (where people can drop off their donations) and your goals (pounds of food or quantities of a specific product).

Build your team: Food drives are a great way to get groups involved and do something fun with your peers. Choose who you will be working with. It could be your school, workplace, friends, family, community associations, or church.

Prepare to collect donations: Once you have all the details for your food drive, decide how you would be collecting the donations.

If you register your food drive with us, the Regina Food Bank can provide barrels, boxes or crates to be used.

Spread the word: Create your marketing materials (posters, social media posts, etc) and start sharing with your network.

Get Social: and make sure you tag us! When you share you can inspire others to get involved.
