Incoming Chief Executive Officer – John Bailey

Regina: March 18, 2019 —The Board of Directors of the Regina & District Food Bank are pleased to announce the appointment of John Bailey as CEO for the Regina & District Food Bank effective Monday April 1, 2019.

“It is our great pleasure to announce that John Bailey, a dynamic young leader in the non-profit community, has been appointed our new CEO,” said Sophie Perreault, incoming Board Chair. “As we open the next chapter for our storied organization the board of directors would also like to extend its gratitude to Todd Sandin and Wayne Hellquist. Both Todd and Wayne took on the role of interim CEO at different points over the past few months and provided great support to the organization while the board conducted an extensive search across Western Canada. We appreciate both Todd and Wayne’s ongoing commitment to the seamless delivery of programs and services during the transition.”

Most recently, as Vice President of Operations at Harbour Landing Village, John led a holistic review of operational practices resulting in both increased quality of service delivery and improved financial performance across a complex variety of business units including childcare, group homes, a commercial restaurant, and independent living for seniors.

As interim CEO and COO of the YMCA of Regina, John helped lead a major transition for an organization that included 12,000 members, the largest delivery of licenced childcare in the province, as well as multiple community development programs focusing on education initiatives and outreach in the area of homelessness.

John has taught with the Non-Profit Sector Leadership and Innovation program offered by the University of Regina. He is also on the board of directors and is a strategic advisor to several charities that serve Regina.
John’s background in executive leadership is backed by an MBA from the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Regina. He has supplemented his education with strategic planning and performance measurement studies with George Washington University. He is passionate about innovating the way non-profits demonstrate their impact on the communities they serve.

Please join the Board of Directors in welcoming John to the Regina Food Bank.
