Regina Food Bank is honoured to partner with the Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan for the Cold Weather, Warm Hearts awareness and fundraising campaign. HSAS has kick-started the campaign with a $10,000 donation.
Thanks to this donation from SaskMilk and Saputo, we’ve been able to fill our food hampers with 25,000 L of 2% milk, feeding our neighbours locally sourced, nutritious food choices.
Food insecurity is a serious health problem in Canada. It is linked to poor health, and is a barrier to psychological, social, and emotional well-being. In Saskatchewan, more than one in ten households and 19 per cent of children experience food insecurity.
Madam Commissioner Mary Culbertson is Saskatchewan’s Treaty Commissioner, the first woman to step into this role, and a Change Agent for Truth and Reconciliation.
