Purolator Tackle Hunger

Fans are encouraged every year to bring non-perishable food items or cash donations to the game and drop them off to the Purolator and Regina Food Bank volunteers stationed at the stadium gates.

Since its inception in 2003, the Purolator Tackle Hunger program has delivered more than 6.5 million pounds of goods to food banks across Canada. For the past two years, Stampeders fans have made a huge contribution to to this total by setting new new Purolator Tackle Hunger record with their donations.

The Regina Food Bank distributes emergency food to more than 9000 people every month, half of which are school aged children. Most needed food donations include canned meat and fish, pasta, rice, baby formula, cereal, peanut butter, canned vegetables and fruit, canned beans and cereal.

As Canada’s leading integrated freight and parcel solutions provider with national resources of more than 12,000 teammates, more than 3,000 courier vehicles and the ability to reach almost every destination point in Canada, Purolator is committed to helping alleviate hunger in the communities where it operates. As part of this commitment, Purolator works closely with its teammates, customers and food banks across Canada to collect donations and help raise awareness about the issue of hunger. Since its inception in 2003, Purolator Tackle Hunger has helped deliver the equivalent of more than 4.5 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada.

In addition to the food drive, every time a CFL quarterback gets sacked throughout the regular season, Purolator donates the equivalent of the quarterback’s weight in food to the CFL hometown food bank.
